"O.k, let's play a simple bluegrass style bass line. We're going to use all open strings. Every open string, the next lower string is the fifth. So, D is the root, A is the fifth for that. Our chords are going to be D, G, and A. And, we're going to play it just like this, one, two, ready, begin. D, A, D, A, D, A, D, now switch to G, you'll hear the G chord, D string, G, D, back to that D. D, A, D, now A is the five chord, A, E, A, E, back to D. So, again using all open strings, and we're just playing a beat, and then resting a beat. Play, rest, play, rest, a very simple bass line, it's very effective and now you know how to play it for the D chord, G chord and the A."
