"Now, what we're going to do here, was, is what's called scoring. That's when you attach any piece of clay to another piece of clay. You want to cause the surface, this is scoring. So, whenever you take another piece of clay and add it to it , it has a nice, clay, say if you're adding this to that, and sculpture it all in, you score it, grab a little bit of slip, from your slop bucket. When you add it, those two scored pieces of clay will combine with each other and really stick. So, it's not going to fall off. So, it's really important that you do that with handles. It's called scratch and slip. That's what they call it. And, you can either use one of these ribs here as a scoring rib or a fork, or if you don't have any of that, just take the, your needle tool and just give it some scores. Like that. Just mess it up a little bit, because the clay will join with the other clay and make a nice healthy bond, so that handle doesn't fall off. Spill coffee all over the place, then."
