"I'm Keeley Selvage with Keeley's Skin Solutions. I'm a licensed clinical aesthetician and have been for over half a decade. I'm going to talk to you about some of the dangers of laser hair removal. Really, there's not too many to worry about, but here is just a few. First of all, it is possible to scar from this treatment. The scarring, however, can be recovered and back to normal in about six months. What happens is is that laser is attracted to pigment, so if you have a tan, or even if you have dark skin naturally, that pigment can temporarily go away. You could experience hypo-pigmentation. You could even experience hyper-pigmentation where the area gets darker, so that is something to think about. Make sure you consult your physician and see what the chances are of maybe your skin type scarring. Also, you may run the risk of a slight infection. Not a big deal, but sometimes it can cause a superficial burn. Then, you can get a bacterial infection, but your doctor most likely will prescribe an anti-biotic to fight the infection, and of course, you want to talk care of that wound. Also, if you have a history of herpes simplex, there's a chance that that can come up. One thing you want to do is consult a physician before your treatment and they can give you a prescription for an anti-viral medication. Other than that, hair removal is very safe. Do your research, talk to the physician to feel good about it. You should be good to go. My name is Keeley Selvage with Keeley's Skin Solution and those are the dangers of laser hair removal."
