"Hello, I'm Cheri Ashwood and today I'm going to tell you how much does a pet sitter make. If you have a love of animals, but not necessarily the patience, or you're just not at a point in your life or of age to enter school and become a veterinarian, you can be a pet sitter. As a pet sitter, I would say you're going to make an average of about $20,000 a year based on an hourly wage. But there are certainly opportunities to make higher if you're deciding to open up a small business and be a pet sitter. There are several organizations. There's an organization called Pet Sitters International that you can obtain credentials through, be a certified pet sitter. There's also programs offered through the Humane Society and training to back that up.
