"Hello, I'm Cheri Ashwood, I'm a Guidance Counselor and today I'm going to tell you how much does a nurse anesthetist make. A nurse anesthetist is basically an RN or Registered Nurse that delivers anesthesia and cares for patients before, during and after anesthesia is administered. So to be a nurse anesthetist, you first have to be a Registered Nurse. That is going to require a Bachelors degree. To become a nurse anesthetist, it will take from ten weeks possibly up to two years and of occasional or technical program in order to get the further credentials that you need in this profession. There's also a Bachelors degree program and possibly a PhD program and I would encourage you to go as far as you can. You'll average about $60,000 in this profession, but the higher the degree you have and the higher the level of expertise, you're going to make more money in this profession. You're going to have to have a strong love for Math and Science. Of course, I would suggest that you work hard and study hard to make the grades and you're not going to want to be the screamers type in medical field. I'm Cheri Ashwood, I'm a Guidance Counselor and your future starts today."
