"Hello. I'm Cheri Ashwood. I'm a guidance counselor and today I'm going to tell you how much does a surgeon make. Physicians are among the highest paid of occupations, ranging anywhere form 150 to 200 thousand dollars. And that's not for lack of education. You're going to need of course a bachelor's degree, a four year degree at a college or university. A medical degree that may be another three to four years of study and advanced training in your specialty. If you've chosen surgery as your specialty the options are endless. There is pediatric surgery. Veterinary surgery. Pediatric surgery. Plastic surgery. So you've got a lot of school ahead of you but it will be well worth it if you've decided you want to be a surgeon as your career. See your high school guidance counselor for more information on areas of medical specialty and of course a love of math and science is going to benefit you. I would strongly suggest that you study hard and make the best grades that you can. I'm Cheri Ashwood. I'm a guidance counselor and your future starts today."
