"Hi, I'm Teri. And in this segment, I'm going to show you how to make the Fourth of July fun for kids. Now, kids love to be involved in the planning of the party. So, do that! Get them involved. Start by having dress up in their favorite red, white or blue outfit. Then, we'll be all set. Next, the decorating of the house. Have the kids involved in that as well. Got some red and white balloons here, and some blue crepe streamer. Have them decorate the entire house. Blow up the balloons, and decorate it however they like. Then they'll feel really involved. Also, have them involved in the food preparation as well. Kids love helping out around the kitchen, and it takes the stress off us adults as well. So, this is just a really nice, simple cookie that you can make. It's a shortbread cookie with a little bit of strawberry jam in the middle. Then we take some decorating gel, this is blue decorating gel, and we're going to paint stripes onto the cookie. So have the kids prepare these cookies for everybody, while you take care of the, maybe the hot dogs and the hamburgers. And then, have them top it off with an American flag right in the middle. How cute are these? And then of course as it gets later in the evening, and we've all had our fill of snacks, you might want to go out to your local firework display. Every town or city should have one. Lay out a nice big blanket, and get ready for the fireworks to go off. And that would be a really fun way to get the kids involved for the Fourth of July."
