How to Harvest & Store Oranges

"So you are wanting to know how to harvest and store your oranges. Well the first thing is, is a little simple trick that very few people who are not familiar with oranges know how to do and that is to harvest or to pick. First of all you don't pull. If you pull you are going to plug which means you pull the center out of that and that cuts in to your storage time. So first of all a simple little trick, you have to turn the orange to a ninety degree angle and you simply then just pull it off there and you've got your little button. Now the storage part of it is very simple, first of all in order to get citrus and oranges in particular to get their longest shelf life they need to remain cool. So if you are up north and it's thirty five, forty five degrees outside leave them outside. If you are here in Florida, then you are going to have to probably put them in your refrigerator at least a very cool section of your home. You will get between fourteen and twenty one days of shelf life on an orange freshly picked from your tree.
