"My name is Daniel Baldwin, general manager of Kurt's Auto Wrecking Pic a Part in American Fork Utah. And, in order to sell a car with no title in Kansas, it's just like here in Utah. You have to go into the DMV with your I.D. and they will fill, you fill out a paper there, and then the DMV searches the records of the VIN number from that vehicle, and they check to see if you were the last registered owner. And if you are, they will send you out a title in the mail. Usually, in this state it takes 6-8 days to get that title back, and then it's just like you had a new title. There is a new title number and everything. You just take that title in to wherever you would like to sell the vehicle, and submit it, and that is legal paperwork to sell that vehicle. The reason that you need to turn these paperwork in, and go through the DMV is because it's a security check for us, so that we can know that the cars are not stolen and that you are the actual owner of these vehicles. And so, through the process that we go through with this paperwork to the DMV, it's a way that you know and we know that these cars are legitimate."
