"Tools for an electrician, basic. I'm Robert Markey, and I've been doing construction for many years, and we're going to talk about outfitting a basic electrical electrician's toolbox, okay? And there aren't a lot of tools here, but these will get you through about ninety percent of what most electricians do, okay. Screwdriver; if you can you're going to have a few screwdrivers, or you can get one of these multi ones that going to do everything by itself. Very important, okay, this is a tester. You stick it in an outlet. If the outlet is hot it goes on, so before you do anything; changing a box or anything like that, you're going to make sure you do that, so this is necessary. Needle nose pliers for twisting wires, for cutting wires. A stripper, and there are lots of different kinds of these. You can get fancy ones that as you do it it pops the ends of the wires off. You can get little very cheap ones that don't even have the specific grooves, but you kind of just do it until you think it's right, and this is just kind of a nice one here, okay. This is another one only it has a couple more uses. It's not necessary, but kind of nice. It has a crimper in the end, it has a wire cutter right there, and its got its strippers right there, okay. Cable stripper for taking the outside of your your wire cable off; this is what you use. Pull it, and then the cable comes right off, okay. Now, the screwdriver; now that's, for tools that's pretty much it, but in that toolbox you also want to have a roll of electrical tape, and it's nice to have a collection of wire nuts and staples, so I just tend to put all this stuff, and a few more conduits, put all this stuff in a box so when you need it you don't have to go grab something else. But this is pretty much what you need. I'm Robert Markey, and we've been talking about your basic electrician's toolbox."
