I have four standard pillow on my bed. Tow of them are covered with decorative shams, while the other two are covered with solid color pillowcases. When making the bed, do the pillows with the shams go behind the other pillows? Or in front? I'm a bachelor, trying to make a good impression for someone lol.

Hi my name is Sandy and I'm with the Maids Home Services. I wanted to talk to you about how to make a bed. You'll usually have a flat sheet or a fitted sheet rather. Flat sheet, a blanket and a comforter. You'll put the fitted sheet on first it will have the sewn corners to show that it's fitted. It will hug the bottom part of the mattress. You'll put that on first. You'll have a flat sheet which will have a thin sewn edge, the biggest part will go at the top. You make sure that you pull that all the way up. I usually do like an extra two or three inches and then after you've got your flat sheet on, you want to make sure that you have enough at the bottom cause you want to tuck it in. You want to tuck in the bottom foot part first. And then they'll be an excess corner that you'll pull up on the side of the bed. And then tuck the excess in. And then tuck the side in and that will create a nice hospital corner for you. And then make sure all your wrinkles are out, everything is pulled up to the top. You've got enough link on both sides of the bed. You don't want one side uneven or more on the other. You put your blanket on, you'll tuck it in the same way, the foot first. Come to the side, find the long piece of the corner, pull it up, tuck in underneath. And then square it off and tuck in the side after that. And then the pretty end, the sewn piece at the top of the flat sheet you'll fold over your blanket tucking everything in making it look nice and tight and neat. And then if you've got a comforter or a bed spread you'll be able to put that on, you won't have any excess blanket or sheet hanging out from underneath and obviously you'll put that on making sure the sides of the bed are all straight and even on each side. Make sure the foot of the bed is nice and even on both ends, that you've got enough material. And then dress it with your pillows and any bed dressing that you would have. And that's how you make a bed.
