Hi my name is Sandy and I'm with the Maids Home Services. I wanted to talk to you about how to polish stainless steel appliances. What I did here is I went ahead and any surface especially if it is near an oven or a stove you want to use a degreaser cleaner with just a cotton cloth to get any oils and food off. You definitely want to make sure the area is clean and dry of grease. You will then want to, I'm using Whirlpool Stainless Steel polish, apply about a dime to a nickel size on your cloth and I usually rub it in a little bit and just kind of blot it around and then whatever direction your grain is going in your stainless steel is the direction you want to wipe. This is actually going right to left so I am able to make right to left overlapping strokes. You are just rubbing it in, you know turn your cloth over because now you want to use a clean side of your cloth that doesn't have any polish and just what you did just kind of work in shorter strokes and just polishing that polish in and get that shine on. It's like buffing wax on a car. Remember to keep going into the direction of the grain of the stainless steel and it could really cause some damage going against it and that would be how you polish stainless steel appliances.
