Summary: A water fast is done by drinking only water for three to 10 days, consuming just over 2 quarts of water per day. Avoid drinking distilled water during a water fast with health information from a chiropractor and addictionologist in this free video on fasting.
"Hi, my name is Doctor Kim Makoi. I'm a Holistic Chiropractor from San Francisco and this is how you do a water fast. A water fast is one of the more difficult types of fast to do. So, with all fasts, make sure you're feeling good and good health not having any sicknesses when you decide to undertake the fast. So, to do a water fast basically water is the only thing you'll be consuming for about three days. You can go as long as ten days but of course that's more challenging and terms of the amount of water, most people recommend seven to ten glasses of water a day. A good guideline is actually to take your body weight, divided it by two, your body weight in pounds divided by two and that's how many ounces per day you should be looking at so if the average adult weights about a hundred and forty pounds divided by two that's seventy ounces. Typical water bottle like this one quart bottle is thirty two ounces. So, a hundred and forty pound adult should get at least a little more than two of these probably aim for three these a day especially during a water fast. Also, while you during a water fast make sure not to use distill water because distill water can actually leach some of the minerals out of your body. So, that's basically how you do a water fast."
