How to Draw Gangsta People

"Joel Hickerson, grindog.com. Today, we're going to draw Gangsta people. First thing we want to do is just like any other figure, we're going to create an action line, a line of action that kind of twisted, that kind of help our gangster get a little bit of attitude. So we'll tilt his head, just a little bit, maybe throw a cap on him with the bill kind of half way up front, half way behind him. Then we make an eye line right up under the cap, nose, mouth, kind of smirking a little bit, ears. Then we'll do the shoulders, well, we're going to cross his hands across his chest. I'm going to go one hand over here, now here's his body, and his other hand come over here. Alright. I'm going to bring maybe one leg down and cross it over. The other leg's straight down. Now the shoes' very important, let's make them kind of big, with a big sole on them, then drop them pants down a little bit. The style now is to wear them low. So we're going to drop them down and this is probably conservative by gangster estimates and then maybe some boxer shorts up at the top. Okay, baggy t-shirt, alright. So, we'll start at the hands and maybe we'll do a gangster sign and you may have some gangster signs of your own; I'll make mine. Here we go with the first one, coming across and maybe the second one, coming after this hand. Alright. Maybe necklace coming down. And now, make it easy on ourselves, now we've made a jumble of construction lines. We'll come back and erase the lines we no longer need. That's the beauty of pencil, you can come back and fix this up. And later you can come back with your marker and make it look even better by outlining the outline of it or the external line. Okay. Come around, here's the top, here a couple of wrinkles in the material, to give it a little more. Coming out of pants and just erase all the lines you don't need and you come back and I'm sure you can accessorize the guy have best to see fit. And that's how you draw Gangsta people."
