"Hello my name is Scott and I'm the owner of Climb On indoor rock climbing gym in Wilmington, North Carolina. Today we are going to discuss what to wear rock climbing. What to wear rock climbing is dependent on the weather, the area you are going to and how long you plan to be out there. Anytime you are going out into the woods or to a mountain, to rock climb or hike or mountaineer, obviously the first thing you are going to want to do is get proper instruction on what you are doing and where you are going. Know the weather history, that will help you to decide what to wear or what to bring. Generally when we are going rock climbing in a warm area I would want to wear long pants, hopefully with a gusseted crotch. Something that makes it easy to move in. Movement is very important when it comes to rock climbing. My shirt isn't going to be real loose. It's going to fit well and be tucked in because it can get caught in your belay device. If you've got long hair, you are going to want to make sure that you put your hair up and get it away from your body so that it doesn't get caught in your rappel device. Rock climbing shoes, a rock climbing helmet, a good harness and your gear. Again proper instruction is the most important thing in the safety of rock climbing. This has been what to wear while rock climbing."
