"Hello my name is Scott and I'm the owner of Climb On indoor rock climbing gym in Wilmington, North Carolina. Today we are going to discuss why you have to wear rock climbing equipment. Rock climbing is inherently dangerous and can result in serious injury or death. That's the main reason that you would want to wear rock climbing equipment. Some of the equipment included would be your harness, rope, belay device, carabiner and personal anchor system. Anytime that we talk about using this equipment for rock climbing you are going to want to get professional instruction from your indoor local rock climbing gym. Some of the things that you are going to learn about are proper fit of your harness and equipment. The proper uses of your rope, the knots that we use. Again I can't stress enough how important it is to get the proper instruction from a qualified individual on how to use this equipment. What equipment that you want to use and the reasons for wearing it. Again the number one reason would be safety. And we consider safety to be the first thing that we think of. Again this has been why to wear rock climbing equipment."
