Video Transcript

"Hello my name is Scott and I'm the owner of Climb On Indoor Rock Climbing Gym in Wilmington, North Carolina. Today we're going to discuss what we need to go rock climbing. Some of the very important things that we would need would include your harness, ropes, carabiners, quickdraws, belay device, a partner and a proper instruction. Most importantly, the proper instruction can be given to you by a qualified professional at your local indoor rock climbing gym or by a professional guide outdoors. The use of these items can be very dangerous if you do not know how to use them. Some of the other knowledge you might need are how to tie your knots, how to belay your partner, how to rappel and how to lower someone. Setting up a top rope can be very dangerous because of the physics and the forces behind it. Again, I cannot stress enough the importance of proper instruction before you undertake the task of rock climbing. Again, these, these has been the tools of rock climbing."
