Video Transcript

"Hello, my name is Scott and I'm the owner of Climb On! indoor rock climbing gym in Wilmington, North Carolina. Today we're going to discuss how to build a climbing wall. Climbing is inherently dangerous and can result in serious injury or death. Anytime that we discuss building a rock climbing wall, you're going to want to get proper instruction on the construction of it and the use of your climbing wall. Once you purchase some climbing holds, the material and lumber that you're going to need, you want to make sure that when you're securing this together that you're doing it according to plans from a rock climbing wall manufacturer, a climbing wall salesperson or a climbing holds sales representative. Metolius puts out a booklet of how to build an indoor climbing wall at your home or in your backyard. Anytime that you build one of these climbing walls in your backyard or outside, weather is going to take and deteriorate that wall over time. So inspection is very, very important. If you don't have a local indoor rock climbing gym, please do the research and talk to manufacturers of climbing walls to get the proper instruction for the proper strengths and weaknesses needed for your indoor rock climbing wall. This has been how to build a rock climbing wall."
