"Hi, I'm Nancy Frensley, I'm the training manager at the Berkley East Bay Humane society in Berkley California. We're going to talk today about taking care of your Scottish Terrier. The Scottish terrier used to be really, really popular, and today you hardly ever see them. They use to be called in England the Aberdeen terrier. They're a small square terrier with a really good mind, but they tend to be one or two person dogs. So when you're taking care of your Scottie you got to keep that in mind, that they're really going to do better in a family where there's just one or two people, but people who love to play with them, who love to walk. These dogs are sporty, they're independent, they love to have a good time, and that's what they are, they're just the good time Charlie of dogs. And they're going to need- they have some special grooming needs, so they will need to go to professional groomers at least more than once in their lifetime to have their coats properly stripped down and taken care of. Health wise, they haven't been over bred, so they actually have really, really, really good health history. Your Scottie is going to be a delightful pet for that one or two person family that wants a quiet dog that they can take for walks and play a few little sports with."
