"There are many types of birds that learn to talk. The most common that most people consider is the African Grey, because they do learn to speak quite soon and quite clearly. They are also extremely intelligent. I have also found that an Amazon parrot is a very good talker, and loves to talk. The first bird that ever got me into dealing with birds again, was a parakeet. Most people think that parakeets cannot talk. This was an English Budgie, and I walked into the lady's house, and didn't know her at all and all of the sudden standing alone in a room, I hear "Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater." And I couldn't find anything. After a while, I heard it again. And I was about to leave. Because, looking around the room there was nothing there, nowhere to be seen. She walked in and evidently saw my dismay, and said "He's hiding in the lampshade." And it was an English Budgie, who had quite a large vocabulary. Cockatiels can talk. They take longer to teach them to talk. Macaws talk. Cockatoos talk. All these birds can be taught to talk, but they learn at different rates. Like I said, the most common and the ones that are thought about most talking, are the African Greys and the Amazons."
