Video Transcript

"Parrots have mouths and therefore they can bite. And if somebody asks you if a bird can bite, yes, any of them can. But they can be taught not to bite. To do this, I use a clicker and a sharp tone. When the bird is on my hand I lower the bird shortly down and tell it, No! And it doesn't take too long before they understand that this is not a favorable behavior. They will learn with treats that when they have done like they're told and they are not biting, then they get their treat and they hear the clicker sound. When I first started using the clicker I thought that you click when they were bad and I learned quickly that you click when they are good. They like that sound."
