"To care for your parrot, there are several things to remember, fresh water, plenty of food of both kinds, their regular diet plus their fresh fruits and vegetables. They also need a whole lot of attention. Especially cockatoos need more attention or seem to demand more attention then some of the other birds. If you don't give them this attention they'll start plucking their feathers and mutilating their bodies and different things. So, if you're going to get a cockatoo, then you should make sure that you've got time to play with the cockatoo to give the cockatoo attention. This little baby loves attention. She loves to be near you, she loves to talk to you and she needs a bath regularly. Cockatoos and all birds get dirty. Cockatoos also have dander and therefore, by having a shower or a bath or being spray misted with a bottle is ways to give them their bath. Different ones like different methods of having a bath. Some want to get in the sink with running water, some of them want to get in the shower with you and some of them just want misted with the spray bottle. I have found that I have birds in all categories that like their bath in different ways. Always make sure though that they have plenty of water and that they have plenty of food."
