"Hi this is Yolanda Vanveen and in this segment we're going to talk about how to repel gnats and that's spells G N A T S. Gnats, they're just tiny little bugs that look like flies and they love all types of foods. So if you have a barbecue or you're having a get together outside or you have any type of fruit out, there's going to be gnats and gnats are just little tiny, tiny little fly type bugs that are everywhere. And there's different things that you can do to repel them. And my first rule of thumb with bugs is always protect yourself first. There's different ways that you can protect yourself and just putting some, if you're outside, just putting some oil on your body whether it's olive oil or vegetable oil or lavender oil or any type of oil, it helps a lot and the gnats won't come near you because they don't like the smell of the oil. So what the oil actually does it stops the bugs from noticing that you're human so the oil will stop the carbon from coming out of your body and then the bugs won't read you as something to eat and so it'll protect you that way. And you don't even have to use an oil, any type of herb too if you're having a get together and there's gnats around, just sprinkle some cinnamon or sprinkle some cayenne pepper, some Tabasco pepper, some red hot chili pepper, some garlic, some pepper, some salt, any type of spray and too, I always like cooking spray too, it's easy way to spray your body especially if you're out in the woods and there's gnats everywhere and bugs. It'll protect you and it's natural, it doesn't hurt the animals. And that's my key too, they're finding even the natural insecticides aren't that great for you so even pyrethrins they're finding, they're using them for to kill fleas and so women when they're pregnant, if they're bathing dogs or cats and with the pyrethrin based soap, they're finding that their children have twice the chance of having autism. So my theory is don't use any chemicals if you have a choice, use spices instead."
