"I'm going to describe to you the specific of an underhand clear shots. Like with all demonstrations, I start from the ready position. An underhand clear shot is typically done at or near the net. The first thing I need to do is to move from the ready position towards one of the corners of the net. In this case, on my forehand. I shift my feet and push on my legs and reach the net to make the shot. There's some specifics to the movement of the leg. Like every forward shot, when upon arrival, you do not want to block. If you block a shot, you cannot go back towards the next shot. So, it is literally a very smooth spring action which is involved in the shot. (Demo). At the racket level, the shot is made just below net level, as high as possible to intercept, if you can, this shot at shoulder level. Obviously, shots can be made lower if you're pressed by time or movement. The shot is made with a flick of the forearm. There's very little wrist involved in this shot. It is literally a quick shot of the forearm. (Demo). Once the shot is executed, one reposition oneself on the ready position. And I am ready for my next shot. (Demo)."
