"Let's talk about the best flea medication for cats between Advantage and Frontline. Both of these products are similar as far as what they do for fleas. Advantage is Imidacloprid and Frontline is Fipronil and so both of these products are very good as far as killing fleas. Check with your veterinarian clinic first as far as what they recommend, how they recommend applying these to your cat and of any side effects that are possible want to watch out for. As far as these products are concerned, they're both equally good as far as killing fleas. Frontline does have an added advantage in that it does kill ticks and Frontline Plus actually has an insect growth regulator in there to kill or prevent flea eggs from hatching. But both products are very good, but check with your veterinarian clinic first and make sure you're getting the correct product. You never want to put a dog flea or tick product on your cat because that can cause severe problems. So check with your clinic first. Now flea products are good for cats as far as topically treating for fleas but don't forget the environment. Vacuuming frequently is a good thing to do as far as if you have an infestation concern, if your cats go outside, cleaning up any brush or debris or leaf piles outside would be a good idea too. To eliminate any source of fleas that could be hiding or breeding."
