"Did you know that you can actually increase your running pace with just a little bit of training. I'm CarolAnn with Studio Group X and I'm going to teach you how to run two miles faster. Let's say you've been running for several months now and you really want to work on your speed. You want to get faster, but it's just not coming as easily as you expected. Well, there's really no rocket science to this. To run faster, you've got to run faster. But, the way that you go about doing it is very simple. Number one, we're going to increase our strength in our legs and then number two, we need to increase our cardiovascular systems so that we can handle that increased intensity. So, how do we do that? Well, number one, we incorporate interval training into our overall routine. So, take one to two days to do what we call interval training. So, simply warm up for about five minutes at a light pace. A light jog. And then start to get into your regular tempo pace. The pace that you can maintain for at least thirty to forty five minutes. So, run at that pace for about two minutes and then every third minute just run as fast as you can to where you're really breathing heavy and you're huffing and puffing. And then after one minute, go back down to your tempo pace. Do that ten times and that will give you a thirty minute interval workout. Before you know it, you're going to get faster and faster at your overall thirty to forty five minute runs. That two mile distance, you'll be able to finish it faster and faster as you go along. Now, to increase the strength in your legs, perform some squats, some lunges in the weight room. You can have dumbbells, you can use barbells to do your squats and your lunges. And that will increase the strength in your legs. So, increase the strength in your legs. Improve your cardiovascular endurance and you'll be able to go faster when you're running those two miles. I'm CarolAnn with Studio Group X and we just talked about how you could run two miles faster."
