"This is Athena Reich and I'm a musician and an actor here in New York City, and I also coach both music and acting. In this clip I'm going to talk about how to become a kid singer. Well one of the first things that you can do is ask your parents if you can get singing lessons, yes there's such thing as singing lessons, and your singing teacher can really guide you on the path to everything. But first of all be prepared and know that becoming a singer isn't just all fun and games, it takes daily practice, so be prepared to practice, you're going to practice scales, do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti, doe, you're going to practice scales daily, (do,do,do,do,do,do,do,do,do,do,do,do), but then you'll get to sing really fun songs. Another thing you can do is listen to a lot of music, you can listen to music and you can sing it, you can join a choir, maybe you go to a church, you can ask your parents if you can join the church choir. There's lots of things you can do as a child to become a singer. But the most important thing that I can suggest is trying to get singing lessons. Or maybe at your school there's a chorus you can take, an after school choir or singing program, and that will be a fantastic first step to becoming a child singer. This has been Athena Reich in New York City."
