"Hi I'm Kelli, I'm an aesthetician and a makeup artist at Alta Salon and Cosmetics and I'm going to tell you how you can get rid of zits. Basically what a zit or a blemish is is it's dirt and debris, oil that's clogged within a pore infected by the P acne bacteria. So one thing that you can do to remove that pustule is to steam the face for 5 to 10 minutes depending on your comfort level, take your two ring fingers, hold it at the base of the pustule and wiggle until that pustule actually will pop out of the follicle. You can also use anti-bacterial agents, anti-bacterial cleanser will help to kill that P acne bacteria and help to pull that infection out of the follicle. You can also use blemish dissolvers. Basically what these have in it is sulfur, a drawing agent helps to pull infection out of the pore. Salicylic acid which is an exfoliant, it's also a beta hydroxy acid helps to unclog pore plugs as well as reduce inflammation and also has citric acid in it. Citric acid is a really good astringent and it's a really good anti-bacterial as well. So those are some things you can do to get rid of zits."
