"Hi I'm Kelli, I'm an aesthetician and a makeup artist at Alta Salon and Cosmetics and I'm going to show you how to apply a lip liner. So when you're applying the lip liner, you want to use the side of the pencil, you never want to go straight on with the point. As you can see, you're going to get a much softer line with the side versus a harsher line with the point. So what we're going to do is we're going to take the side of our pencil and we're going to start right in the bow of the lip and then we're going to go down to the center of the bottom lip. And from there we're going to feather our way out. And I actually like to fill in the whole entire lip with the lip liner. This helps your lipstick stay on better, it also if your lipstick wears off during the day, you're not going to be left with a big line around your lip which is not very attractive. So just use the side of the pencil, just going to kind of fill in her whole lip. So her lips are defined but yet if we put lipstick on top and it wears off, she's not going to be left with a big line around the lips. So that's how you would want to apply a lip liner."
