"Hi, my name is Lauren. Today I'm here to discuss how to make straight hair wavy. An easy way to make straight hair wavy is by using thermal tools. The rule of thumb for curling iron is, the smaller the diameter of the barrel, the smaller the curl. You'd want to stick with like your one inch, your three quarter inch or your one and a half inch curling iron in order to get more of a wave rather than a curl. You then going to use some sort of heat protectant and you're going to spray the hair in order to protect it from the heat, also to help set your style. You then going to wrap your curling iron around, you're going to go with the duck bell so that way you're not going against it, it prevents getting fish hook ends. You're going to roll it. You can feel and you can actually feel when the hair starts to heat up and then that's when you want to let go. Since we are going for more of a wave, once this is all broken up, it will give you more of that S-wave in the hair. Another great way in order to get a wave is to use a gauge, a gauge rollers. The gauge rollers, whether they'll be Velcro or anything else are just enough in order to wrap that hair around and give you enough, and give you some wave. Again, it's the same kind of concept with the curling irons, the gauger the diameter, the goozer their wave. So the looser the curl. You can do the hot rollers on dry hair, you can also do Velcro rollers or regular rollers on damp hair. Another great way to get that tussled wave look is on damp hair to put a little bit of setting lotion into your hair and to do braids. You want to make them a little bit on the larger side; so you want to maybe, just you know, grab random sections of your hair and then just go ahead through and braid them. Let your hair dry in those braids and then after your hair is dry, you can take them out and rake through them with your fingers and they will have more of that S-tussled wave look. And that is to get straight hair wavy."
