"Hi my name is Lauren and today I am going to discuss how to lighten hair. The easiest way to lighten hair is through throwing some highlights within your hair. It creates a little bit of dimension and it can also give your natural hair color a little bit of appeal and it is also less commitment than doing a lighter base color. If you are looking to do an all over color the maintenance is going to be about every four to six weeks. Highlights are just random pieces of the hair which are weaved into. Therefore the maintenance is only about every ten to twelve weeks that you would need to touch them up. The best way to go about this is to go into a stylist. You can either foil them in by using foil or paper or you can paint them on. Painting them on is what is also called byageand it is actually grabbing pieces of hair and going from root to end and painting a lightener on in order to lighten those pieces of hair. A lot of the home hair cutting kits have those little brushes that you can actually just paint your highlights on. When you paint them on you are going to simply just let go of the hair and allow the hair to fall itself. Do not press the hair down because then you will disturb the hair beneath it and you may get stripes or spottiness. If highlighting is not the answer for you and if you do not want to have more or less highlighted hair by using chemicals you can do a few at home remedies in order to help lighten your hair. Lemon juice for one which I know many people have heard about and also good old Sun in which many people have used throughout the years. What it does is it helps the sun naturally lighten your hair and bring out your natural highlights. It is the natural highlighted hair that you can find. However, it will not give you the same results that a highlight would. Highlights are a little bit more precise you can pick where you want the pieces, which pieces you would like lighter and Sun in and lemon juice area also more of an all over color enhancing so you have no choice as to where those highlights will go. The sun will do the work for you and that is how to lighten your hair."
