"Hi, my name is Lauren and today I'm here to discuss how a curling works. Within your curling iron there are two pieces of metal which are poor conductors of heat. As the resistance builds, so does the temperature and the temperature is very even and the increase is steadily. You can adjust your temperature through your temperature gauge on your curling iron. Finer hair, you're going to want to use more of a bit of a lower temperature. Coarser hair, you can use a higher temperature. Your hair can handle it a bit better. As you go through your hair, you're going to pick it up. The reason why this works and the reason why it changes is the heat actually alters the hydrogen bonds in your hair. The hydrogen bonds will help you to temporarily change the hair texture of your hair and it create from straight hair, a nice wave. There are three bonds that your hair is comprised of and that is the hydrogen bond, the salt bond, and the disulfide bond. Your disulfide bond is what actually predicts your hair texture. The hydrogen bond is a temporary way, in order to break that bond down, and curl your hair if your hair is very straight. It will help to kind of give you versatility within your style and go from curly to straight and back again, and that is how curling irons work."
