"Hi my name is Dave Andrews, today I'm going to talk to you about laptops that won't turn on. Typically if you have a laptop and it's not turning on. The very first thing you need to check is whether or not you are getting power to the laptop. If you have an AC adapter like this one, you want to make sure that your AC adapter is plugged in. Now certainly if you are not using an AC adapter, and you are using your battery to try to turn the laptop on, you want to make sure that your battery is fully seated in the bottom of the laptop. Now it has a little spring loaded latch that as you are sticking the battery in it will slide it over and then pop in to place and that spring will make a little noise and you'll know that that battery is set in correctly when you hear that noise. If you turn it on with your battery and it still won't come on, it could be that the battery is dead. So you'll want to then plug in your AC and try it again. The next thing to do is if your laptop lights will light up temporarily and then the laptop completely shuts itself down or if it's starts booting a little bit and then turns off, chances are you are going through some sort of hardware problem with that laptop. So you'll need to call your manufacturer about that issue. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just talked to you about laptops that won't turn on."
