"Hi my name is Dave Andrews and today I am going to talk to you about buying a hard drive. There are several things you need to consider when you are going to the store to buy a hard drive. Are you buying a hard drive to replace an internal one on your desktop pc or are you buying an external hard drive that is going to show up kind of like a usb drive or thumb drive or something like that. If you are buying an internal hard drive you first need to make sure that you know what you are looking for as far as what your computer will support. There is different types of internal hard drives. You have parallel hard drives and you have Sata hard drives. Now the most modern types are Sata hard drives and many modern computers are using that as their interface internally but there are different types and if you have an older computer you might need to look at your motherboard manual to decide what type of hard drive you need to buy. If you are buying an external hard drive you need to consider the connections that that hard drive is going to have. Does it have firewire connections? Do you support firewire? Does it have usb connections? Does your computer support usb? These are questions that you have to ask yourself when you are going to buy a new hard drive. You also need to really consider the manufacturer of the hard drive. Research the manufacturer that you think will create the most stable types of hard drives. There are a lot of different manufacturers out there, C Gate, West Corps, Western Digital but you need to really read reviews about different types of hard drives and decide which one you think will make the most stable one because if that hard drive dies the data that is on it will be lost. My name is Dave Andrews and just talked to you a little bit about buying a hard drive."
