"Hi. My name is Dave Andrews. Today, I'm going to show you how to deal with Windows Vista problems. Now, one thing that you'll run into with Microsoft Windows Vista, especially if you've done an upgrade of it, is that this is a...it uses a whole lot more memory than its predecessor, Windows XP, used. So one thing that you can do, first of all, to deal with slowness or programs taking forever to load in Vista is just to go out and buy you a stick of RAM or memory for your computer, and pop that in there because that's going to give Vista a lot more resources to work with. And many of Windows Vista's problems come from not having enough memory. So I'm going to go to the computer and I'm going to show you a couple of other things you can do past that. I'm running an HP computer here. One thing that you can do with your computer is to go to your manufacturer's website and just search for updates to the hardware inside of your computer. Like, as you can see here on my Windows Vista box here, I've just connected to HP's website, and you can click on their support and drivers section, and that will take you...if you'll type in your product number for your...the type of computer that you have, that'll take you to a list of updated drivers that you can download and run. Now, drivers are programs that control the hardware in your computer, and manufacturers periodically release updates to those that might work better with the Vista operating system. Another thing that you can do is to run what's called a disk cleanup. To do so, click on your Start button, and we're going to do a search here for the Control Panel. Just pull up that Control Panel, and then click on the Classic View. We're going to want to go to the Performance Tools. Just let me find that here. The Performance Information and Tools. Just double-click on that, and we're going to run the disk cleanup by clicking on Open Disk Cleanup, and we're going to choose to clean up just my files here. It's a good idea to run that on all things, but I'm just going to start on my files. Select the C drive and press okay. That's going to run the Vista program that's going to clean up the files on your hard drive and kind of, you know, delete any that are extra and will also cause your hard drive to run faster. My name's Dave Andrews, and I've just showed you how to deal with Windows Vista problems."
