"Hi, my name is Dave Andrews. Today I'm going to show you how to access free Wi Fi. Now you may see a lot of coffee shops and now you get it in grocery stores and even fast food restaurants having a signs on their windows that say that they have free Wi Fi access available. So basically that means that you can take your notebook computer that is wireless enabled and basically go in there and order, get a coffee, sit down and you can access their wireless network. I'm going to show you how to do that here on my computer. Now from my desktop, as you can see I have an icon down here at the bottom right hand side that is basically two computers that are right next to each other and that's basically a symbol for networking. And it has an X over it right now which basically means I'm not connected to any existing networks. Now to connect to a network, I just right click on that icon and choose connect to a network. Now this pulls up a list of all of the wireless access points that are available within range. If I was at the, you know, some sort of fast food restaurant or coffee shop, I would more than likely see a wireless network with a name of that location. So I'm just going to choose one that's near me here, double click on it. Now it's warning me that this is an unsecured network. That basically means that I haven't have to type in any password to access it and that it's sending all data that I send to the Internet in an unencrypted fashion. I'm going to go ahead and connect to that, you know, keeping that warning in mind that what I transmit could be somehow intercepted. So as you can see, I get a screen here, now it says "I've been successfully connected to tims", which is the network that I have available. And this icon has now changed to two little computers that are blue and happy and communicating with each other. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just showed you how to access free Wi Fi."
