"Hi my name is Dave Andrews, today I'm going to show you how to reset a PC. Let's go through a few steps. The first one I'm going to do is we are going to do a system restore. Which is a process that you can use to take your computer back to a time when it was working. Lets launch a system restore by clicking on the start button and go to all programs. Lets find accessories, scroll down until you can see system tools and we want to launch system restore. Now you have to be an administrator on Vista to run this. So just click continue. Now what the system restore screen is going to do when it comes up is it will give you a list of the restore points that windows has created. And you can choose one of those from that list to restore your computer back to the date when the restore point was created. Now this is a system restore screen. And as you can see it comes up and tells you it's going to restore the system files and settings. To begin let's just click on next which is down at the bottom. The next screen that appears is what gives you your list of restore points. I have one restore point that will restore my computer back to eleven fifteen two thousand eight at around one fifty am. I'm just going to leave that selected and click on next. The very last screen that you see is the confirmation of your restore point. And all you have to do is click finish and windows will begin it's restore process. It will restore your computer and then it will reboot and after it reboots you'll be up and running with the settings you had at that date. I'm not going to do that right now but I'm going to show you how to defrag your computer. This is another item you can use to kind of clean up your hard drive and reset the files to where they can be opened faster. Click on the start button and in the search screen type defrag. And as you can see I have a disk defragmenter and you have to be an administrator again to run this so click continue. And then the defragmentation screen that pops up, all we want to do is click on defrag now. Now what this is going to do is go through your entire hard drive and clean up the files to where they can be opened faster. Well last thing you can do is click on your start button ,click this little arrow that's next to, next to your log off button and then click on restart. That will actually shut down your PC and bring it back up. My name is Dave Andrews and I've just showed you how to reset a PC."
