"Hi, this is Jessica Claire with New York Dating Coach in New York City. In this clip, we're going to talk about how long you should date before marrying. I think that there are many good examples on both ends of the spectrum. I know couples that dated for three months and have been married for 25 years. I know couples that dated for 10 years before finally deciding to tie the knot. So there's really no true answer to this question, except that I must say, a major agenda for people in my field is to lower the divorce rate. The only way to do this is to make sure that before you get married, you've discussed the major issues of childbearing, religion, politics -- all the things that make a couple compatible. Love and puppy love are not necessarily the same thing. Don't get overwhelmed by a feeling of emotion in the early stages of a relationship. Make sure to take the time before deciding to get married. This is Jessica Claire with New York Dating Coach."
