Ceramic Tile Cleaning Tips

Clean ceramic tiles with a regular cleaner and mop, making sure that the grout in between the tiles is sealed to prevent dirt from permeating the surface. I'm Tim Gipson and I'm going to talk to you about ceramic tile cleaning tips and one good thing about ceramic tile is that it is pretty easy to clean. You can clean it like any other surface so you can use a damp mop such as this or use one that uses the disposable mop pads such as this for easy clean up. Now the only special circumstances we get into for cleaning tile as compared to other floors is when we get into these grout areas. Now one of the best ways to avoid having to come back and clean your grout is to take a preventative measure and when your grout is clean and as long as it is grout that has been cured for at least a week or two when it has been put in is to come back and put a sealer on it. Use an acrylic sealer and what the sealer does is instead, what it does is it seals the surface of that grout so it won't be porous and collect dirt because grout but its very nature is porous although your tiles, most of your ceramic tiles are not so any dirt gets on there will just stay on your surface so if you seal your grout line then that will also keep the dirt on the surface and regular mopping. Now if you do have grout that has not been sealed and it is dirty then one of the easiest ways to clean it is to take some baking soda and mix it up into a paste and then using a scrub brush put the baking soda down the line, let it sit there for about 10 or 15 minutes and then come back and work the areas with your scrub brush. It is a lot of hands and knees work but that is pretty much what you've got to do. Then once you get your grout lines clean, let it dry at least 24 hours and then I recommend you seal them, seal all your grout lines and that way any dirt that gets on there will be surface dirt and can be just removed using regular cleaning methods.
