"What are toothache cures? Hi I'm Dr. David Wagner, NorthWood Dental; Clearwater, FL. Today we're going to talk about what can be a toothache cure. The only real cure for a toothache is to see your dentist. But at home sometimes there's things you can do that will help out. If it is the beginning of a cavity, and it's not really infected down in the tooth yet you might be able to put some kind of temporary filling in there. If there's irritation around the gum sometimes a Orajel type solution will help numb the gum and give you some relief that way. Hydrogen Peroxide can also be used that way, you can either rinse a mild solution or you can take it with a q-tip and dab right onto the sore spot and that will help out if it's a gum problem. If it's the tooth you may have to put the temporary filling in there or if the infection is inside the tooth and its throbbing or pounding sometimes some cold water or ice on the tooth will actually relieve it for a short time. Pain medication of course is useful, but the only way to really cure a toothache is to see your dentist and get the proper care. So I'm Dr. David Wagner, NorthWood Dental; Clearwater, FL."
