"So you want to start a record label. Well starting a record label requires a number of things. First off you have got to have a concept or a goal or a plan, what type of label do you want to be where do you want to go, what type of artist do you want to produce, which leads to the next thing, artists. You can't be a record label if you do not have artists. You cannot produce records. You have to have yourself a business name, business license, tax ID numbers, all of these things takes money, you know what I mean so that is something that you have got to have. Another thing that you want to have is a goal of who you want to be as a label, you know things like a name for your label, things like in a business name and get that name protected and get ownership of it. You have to have a place of business and a place of operation and therefore you may need an office. You may need a phone number or a place for people to get in touch with you, a place of business and all of these things take part in starting your label. Last but not least one thing you have go to do is advertise, get the word out there, let people know you have got a label, let them see and hear what you are about so I don't recommend you start your label unless you have got a nice knot of cash because that is what it is going to take. Holler back."
