"Hi, I'm Donna Barnes. I'm a life and dating coach and owner of NY Dating Coach here in New York City. In this clip, we'll talk about the history of interracial dating, and it's been going on I think for decades, it's just that it used to be something that had to be hidden. You know, people like Thomas Jefferson, that we now come to know, that even fathered some children with one of his slaves, but felt that he needed to hide that fact because it wasn't excepted. You know, I, we all know about segregation and how the two cultures were supposed to be completely separate, so dating was just out of the question. So thankfully, society's come a long way since then, and I think people, most people, are outwardly acceptive, acceptive of interracial couples, but hasn't always been the case, and in some areas unfortunately, people do still struggle with that. They, they give a strange look or or just don't feel comfortable with it inside and hopefully we're growing to a place where people are the same and then that's going to change. It's going to be okay. This is Donna Barnes from New York City."
