"Hi I am Donna Barnes I am a life and dating coach and owner of NY Dating Coach here in New York City. In this clip we will talk about the history of dating, and dating really used to be called courtship, courtship was really about being very respectful of someone and spending time with them sometimes there was a chaperon that had to go along with you to make sure that you were you know not even touching each other you were not aloud to hold hands or kiss and someone had to keep watch to make sure that you did not so. Initially dating was really just to get to meet somebody and spend some time together, in very old customs there were arranged marriages so there was not much dating per say at all so, dating has really progressed and gotten to a much freer place I mean there is the Internet there is all sorts of ways of meeting people it is not any more necessarily an introduction from somebody that you know, so over the years dating has definitely become much more open and much more personal choice. This is Dona Barnes from New York City."
