"What is the life of a news anchor like? I'm Glenn Selig and I spent two decades as both a news reporter and a news anchor on the TV and now I am CEO of Selig Multimedia, but what is the life of a news anchor? Well it's a lot different than most peoples' jobs, a lot. Now most people wake up in the morning, they go to work, they work all day, then they come home at the end of the day and you know, they're exhausted and that's it. But they're pretty much there all day for eight, ten hours nowadays, they're at the office. Well in the life of a news anchor at least most news anchors, a lot of their day is filled with appearances, they're going to places, they're speaking to rotary clubs or they're visiting kids' schools. They're getting out in the community as much as possible because a lot of what makes a news anchor successful is how well they're known in a community. So they take a lot of time to become well known. And that's the whole point of it, so the more they can get out in the community to become well known, the better off that they'll be. So their job is very a traditional from what most peoples' jobs are. So they're not in the office all day, and they're not in the office working all day. A lot of it is spent hobnobbing and eating and laughing and doing things like that and very little of it usually is spent actually working. So it can be a very exciting job and it's certainly very different and that's the life of a news anchor. I'm Glenn Selig."
