"Are you looking at a variety of antique rockers and you're not quite sure what you're looking at? I'm Blake Kennedy and I'm here at Patty and Friends Antique Mall in Saint Petersburg, Florida. If you're looking at - you got to make sure you know what you're buying that rocking chair for. Are you looking to read a good book in it? Are you looking to give it as a gift? Are you looking for a child's rocker or something that is just for show? Well, know what you're looking for before you go out buying. You want to make sure you hit some of the antique shops and even the antique malls. The antique malls have a variety of dealers that will give you a good choice of antique rockers. You have some that are nice looking wicker rockers, and you also have some what they call press back rockers. You just want to see if it has a cane bottom or solid bottom, find out if you're going to be sitting in it. Is it going to be a comfortable chair, some of them even have plank seat, molded seats that have a good feel to them. If it's one that you're just putting in there for show, that you just want in the room, go for a nice small ladies rockers. There's a variety of choices out there. You just want to make sure that everything is nice and safe if it's one that you're going to put into it that's not rickety or the glue is coming apart. You want to give it a little shake and turn it over or flip it over and see if it's been recaned or if it was caned in the past and now they put a solid bottom on it and reupholstered it. There's quite a few choices when it comes to rocking chairs, and they make great gifts for people that are expecting, so go out there and pick out a nice rocker that you're going to use and enjoy for a long time.
