"Hi I'm Harvey Woodier, owner of Perfect Tan here in Orem Utah. We're a full service tanning salon, we offer twenty different types of tanning beds, as well as a spray on system. I often get asked how hot does it have to be outside to get a tan. And the answer is the temperature does not matter. You can get a severe sunburn at a ski resort. The UV rays are going to penetrate whether it's cloudy. You know as long as the sun is out, you're going to get a sunburn. So you've got to be careful, it doesn't matter what kind of temperature it is, you can be on Mount Everest and get a bad sunburn. So remember, use a good sun screen, SPF factor, the higher the SPF factor is the more protection you're going to get. Now we also remember in a tanning salon you're in a controlled atmosphere, you can tan anytime during the day. Winder, summer, and your bed is set at a certain time, so you're not going to get burned or over exposed. But outside it doesn't matter what the temperature is you can still risk over exposure and a severe sunburn. So be careful."
