"Hello, my name is Staff Sergeant Montgomery with the United States Marine Corps recruiting office in West Valley City, Utah. Today we're talking about the difference between infantry and non-infantry Marines. An infantry Marine is a Marine who trains daily on war fighting skills. He is the front line fighter. However, a non-infantry Marine is someone whose primary job is not to fight on the front line, but to do one of 300 other jobs the Marine Corps has to offer. Anywhere from aviation mechanic to supply or even legal administration. A non-infantry Marine must still go through Marine combat training. Marine combat training's goal is to train all non-infantry Marines in the skills necessary to operate in a combat environment. Marine combat training is 29 days long. What gets covered in these 29 days is everything from patrolling, using an operating the M240 medium machine gun, as well as the squad automatic weapon or SAW. You go through Marine Corps martial arts training again, you learn how to through grenades, you learn how to operate the AT4 rocket launcher. You learn about IEDs, improvised explosive devices. This is only half of what you would learn and cover in MCT. Again, my name is Staff Sergeant Montgomery with the recruiting office in West Valley City, Utah. You can give us a call at 801-967-9815 or get online at www.marines.com."
