"So you use your own discretion on how you want to mix, but one of the biggest features that a lot of DJ's use, pretty much all the DJ's use is counting to keep track of the way of where you are in your record. And it's a really great skill for anyone who's starting out. It's really going to help you. So what you want to do is we've got a beat on we've got a bass drum hit pretty much on every beat as four on the floors is what that's referred to as. You can count those. I'll wait 'till we get to a new one. Let's say we're going to start after the accent coming up. One, two, three, four. One, two, three, four. Now the way you want to count it is keeping track of how many one, two, three, fours. One, two, three, four. Two, two, three, four. Three, two, three, four. Four, two, three, four. Those are the points where you really want to bring in your record because it will sound like the records are written for each other if you bring it in at the right point."
