FL Studio is a program used to create, mix and edit digital music. Formerly known as Fruity Loops, this digital audio workstation includes support for MIDI data and extensive editing features. Files created in FL Studio can be exported to a variety of formats, including MP3 and WAV files. The FL Studio sequencer can be used to generate patterns and beats, as well as to refine pre-existing MIDI files. The program has been used by many composers of electronic dance music and rave music, as well as by songwriters in genres such as country and even classical music. A variety of plug-ins are available for the program which allow you to fine-tune your beats and songs. The "generators" in the program replicate a vast array of sounds and instruments, from oscillators and Moog keyboards to bass guitars and drum synthesizers. This program is fun and easy to use, and has a large network of users. In this free FL Studio tutorial, our expert on recording music will demonstrate how to use the powerful sampler feature. The Fruity Loops sampler is almost as powerful as the rest of the program combined. You will learn your way around the sampler interface and find out about features such as the sampler envelopes, filters and delay options. Our expert will also demonstrate how to use the Polyphony menu and the Arpeggiator, which is used to create a series of notes (like an arpeggio).
"When we last discussed the sampler, we really only scratched the very top of the ice berg, here. This sampler has more, more menus, more options. And more capabilities than most of the rest of the fruity Loops, in general. You can do pretty much anything, that you can do normally. With the sampler and only with one note. The sampler can do, can do stuff like create arpeggios. It can have envelopes, which we'll discuss in a minute. Which basically changed parameters per note. Still have to our motion in this. This doesn't anyway. Has its own elfos, has its own filters. Has its own distortion and has it's own delay. And we'll show you how to work on all of that. In this next series. But what you should also know is that. We'll talk about layers. Layering is when you want to play more than one channel at the same time. And the cool stuff you can do with that. That's pretty; it's a pretty simple stuff. But it's real powerful, when you use it to work with your own songs."
