"Alright, now I'm going to talk to you about the slip mat. The slip mat is this, they come in any kind of picture, these are the standard Technics ones that come with your Technics Mark 2 turntables and they're pretty classic. But there's all kinds of different pictures people put on them, bands sometimes and other DJ's and producers and hip hop artists come out with slip mats that have their particular logo or picture on it. Now you don't want to put your record right on the turntable because it could damage your record. You put the slip mat over that and then you put your record over the slip mat. Start it spinning, start it playing, sounds good. There is a technique a lot of DJ's use called "record stacking" where you put more than one record on the turntable at the same time and you play the top one so you can access the next one faster. Now I suggest using a slip mat in between your records. If you put a slip mat on top of your record, and then the next record on top of the slip mat, it will play fine and your records won't damage each other. You want to play this guy, and then real quick, throw off this, you want to play this guy, definitely. So that's the usefulness of using a slip mat, and you never want to use a turntable without a slip mat."
